I began writing my book “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting Cancer- A Guide to Thanking Cancer” during the later months of last year. Due to the Holidays, lack of energy and inspiration, my book was placed on the back burner until I felt inspired to start it up again. I had the first 3 chapters down. Tonight I went back and re-read what I have thus far and I feel I have changed so much since then and ended up scrapping everything I had written. That said, I am starting fresh, but want your input. What attracts you to a memoir/niche book on the first few pages, particularly when it’s about a depressing subject matter. It is my mission to speak to people through writing via my experience with cancer. I truly believe that this is all part of my plan and writing has allowed me to connect to so many others fighting the same fight. I strive for the book to be the best it can be and I would truly appreciate any help/advice. Big X

I hope you did not really erase all. Of course what you wrote several months ago seems hopelessly outdated That is what the “journey” of cancer is all about. We change everything about us as we progress – how we feel, what we are thinking, and who we are. I am interested in reading about those changes as they happen – so much more real than reading a retrospective. So if the early part of the book seem naive so be it. That is realistic. Barbara
